FARM INSURANCE
Running a farm brings a different set of risks to any other business, and your cover needs to reflect that. We arrange farm insurance across a broad range of agricultural operations, drawing on specialist rural underwriters as well as mainstream insurers with dedicated farm appetite.

Farms We Can Quote
We can source cover for most working farms and rural properties, including:
-
Livestock operations. Beef cattle, dairy cattle, sheep and mixed livestock enterprises, covering stock losses, farm buildings, fencing and farm vehicles.
-
Cropping and broadacre. Grain, cotton, canola, rice and other broadacre crops, including specialist crop and hail cover.
-
Horticulture and viticulture. Fruit and tree nut growers, vineyards, and fruiting trees and vines.
-
Dairy. Dairy cattle farming, including farm buildings, plant and equipment.
-
Hobby and lifestyle farms. Smaller rural landholdings running on a non-commercial or part-commercial basis.
-
Poultry and intensive livestock. Poultry farming and other intensive livestock operations, subject to underwriter review.
-
High-net-worth rural properties. Specialty farm cover for larger landholdings, often bundled with high-value home, motor and farm liability cover.
Cover typically extends to farm buildings and contents, machinery breakdown, livestock, fencing, farm vehicles, farm personal accident and sickness, and farmers' liability.
Because every property and operation is different, we tailor the submission to your farm rather than working off a one-size-fits-all package.
A Note on Farm Stays and Agritourism
If your farm also hosts paying guests, whether that's cabin accommodation, camping, farm tours, or hands-on experiences with animals, this is a genuinely hard-to-place and frequently declined class of business in the current market, and we want to be upfront about that rather than let you find out at claim time.

A few reasons this cover is difficult to source:

-
Most mainstream farm insurers exclude it. General farm policies are written around primary production, not guest accommodation or recreational activities. Where a farm insurer will consider a farm stay at all, cover usually excludes recreational activities such as animal interactions, water sports, mountain biking and other adventure-style activities.
-
Disclosure is critical. Hosting paying guests on an undeclared basis can void an entire farm policy, not just the guest-related claim, if the insurer later finds the activity wasn't disclosed.
-
Booking platform cover is not a substitute. Protections offered through platforms such as Airbnb or Stayz are generally secondary and narrow; they typically will not respond if the underlying farm or property policy excludes the commercial hosting activity in the first place.
-
Specialist capacity exists, but it's limited. A small number of agencies write purpose-built farm stay and agritourism cover, usually with revenue thresholds, membership or risk-management conditions attached, and often with recreational activities carved out regardless.

If this applies to your property, talk to us before you take a single booking. We'll tell you honestly whether we can place it, what it will exclude, and what you need to have in place first. We would rather turn a quote around slowly and correctly than see a client find out they weren't covered after an incident.
